Positive Production Update!

First off, we'd like to thank each and every one of you amazing backers and supporters for your continued patience and understanding throughout this campaign. It has definitely been a hard fought battle producing the world's FIRST Smartcoat.
Who knew creating the first ever of something would prove to be so difficult?
After countless hours of research, designing, testing, and production, we're happy to announce that we're closing in on the final stages of production and will be receiving the Smartcoats very soon. How soon? Well based on the image above, we should have the Smartcoats in June. Once we have the Smartcoats in our possession, we will perform some final tests to ensure that your Smartcoats meet our highest quality standards. We will then begin the shipping phase of the Campaign, which means not long after that, you will all have your FIRST ever Smartcoat!
We will have another update in the coming weeks once we've received the Smartcoat inventory. With that said, keep an eye out for any Kickstarter emails or notifications as we make this final dash towards the finish line!

Good News and Bad News

So we've been tirelessly working on making sure that these SmartCoats are the best possible product that we can produce, and we're sticking by that standard. With that said, we've had an opportunity to upgrade our batteries thus slightly increasing their duration and significantly decreasing their weight. This is an extremely beneficial upgrade and we're really excited to integrate them into your SmartCoats!
What does this mean for you? Well these batteries take a little bit longer to produce. We're closing in on completion now, but it means that we'll be delayed on our original delivery estimate by roughly a month. While we were trying our best to make sure everyone had their awesome new SmartCoat by or even before Christmas, we couldn't justify sending a SmartCoat that wasn't the absolute best it could be.
In an effort to make sure that those of you gifting SmartCoats this holiday season still have something to give, we're sending out SmartCoat Christmas Cards for you to use as a preview for the SmartCoat to come.
We understand that this delay is short notice, but we stand by our product and our commitment to delivering the best possible jacket we can! It will be worth the wait!

The last day to make final updates to your order is October 15th.
After this date, we will lock your reward selections and charge cards for add-on item purchases, pledge upgrades, and pre-orders. You can update your shipping address up until we lock addresses for shipping.
If you haven’t answered your survey yet, if you fill out your BackerKit survey or pay for extra shipping after the October 15th order due date, we’ll still receive your information but your shipment may be delayed.

Quick update!
We just wanted to inform everyone that the surveys will be headed out in the next couple days. Please fill these out soon, as there is still production ahead and these surveys hold vital information that enable us to deliver an outstanding Smartcoat to all of you backers!
We're looking at a survey deadline of October 15th, but let's see if we can beat that date. The sooner we get all the surveys collected, the sooner you all get your SMARTCOATS!

We've finished the funding phase of our Kickstarter at more than 100% of our goal! We're extremely excited to get started on manufacturing and fulfillment, but we'll need to collect surveys first. These will give us all the info we need to get your rewards to you. This will include things like sizing info, any logos or patch info, address and shipping info, etc.
We will get these surveys out to everyone soon, but as we are a Houston based company, we're currently hunkered down and doing our best to weather out this storm. Please take this time to think about some of the above info as when we are back in the office and sending out surveys, as the quicker we have all the information gathered the quicker we can get started on production.
Please keep us and all the other millions of people in Houston and surrounding areas in your thoughts and prayers as we all get through this devastating storm.
